Here are some bills that I figure all of you will be interested in. There are more updates from “The 86th Texas Legislative Recap.”
1. HB 1734 is the bill that requires that any monetary damages recovered in a settlement for a school district facility shall be used to repair the defects. It has been sent to the Governor to be signed.
2. HB 1999 is the bill where we get to repair the defect before a lawsuit is filed. That has been sent to the Governor for his signature as well.
3. SB 1928 makes a person who wants to sue a licensed Architect file a certificate of merit. Sent to Governor to sign.
